This was a heartwarming story. This was one I needed.
Recently, I have felt alone and lost with my sexuality, and I am not gay, yes, because I am neither a boy/man, nor am I strictly attracted to those who share a gender with me. However, I am Grey-Ace, Bisexual, and I cannot imagine how lonely and isolated would feel today. See, I have been struggling with my sexuality, and reading Simon navigate, with the help of his friends and family, on living a full life regardless of your sexuality made me feel wanted.
Though I can never come out to my parents because it will result in my disowning by them, and I love them too much to let them go, it makes me feel less confused and less horrible about being a part of an amazing community. It makes me feel less guilty for wanting to be a part of the LGBTQ+ community, and being loved and wanted by my friends in the community.
Thank you, Becky Albertalli, for writing this amazing book. It was so necessary, even years after its publications.
