Spoilers:

The thing I adored most about Nidhi Chanani’s Pashmina, was it’s rawness in depicting the truth of what it is like to be a young Indian, living with just parents, in a western country. I related more with the main character than I thought I would because I have been that little girl who was lost and confused and scared so often because she was in a country so far away from her native country, with very few people to help her navigate her Indian identity and how it relates to her western identity. I had very few people to help me understand that I did not have to pick one; I could be both. I highly recommend this to any Indian, especially young Indian, looking for more literature to relate to.
